Founder and CEO, Charmane Andrews Skillen began on her health quest almost three decades ago.  Through her effort to understand how to keep herself and her family health, she learned about the foundational importance of the food we consume on a daily basis.  Along the way, Charmane developed a passion and love for cooking which ultimately led to a discovery that would change her life.  Through a chance meeting in a small spice shop in Savannah, GA, she learned about the crucial role unrefined salt plays in our overall health.  She devoted herself to researching the differences between unrefined salt and the processed table salt we all grew up with.  Now, unrefined salt is the most important ingredient in her kitchen.

s.a.l.t. sisters is based upon that same passion and the desire to share the wealth of knowledge when it comes to health.  We got our start in regional farmers markets under the brand s.a.l.t. which later became s.a.l.t. sisters, a serendipitous acronym for Charmane's four daughters: Sydney, Alexis, Lauren and Taylor.  And no, we didn't plan that!
