Garlic Scapes can be used both as a vegetable and an herb in raw and cooked preparations. They can be grilled, roasted, sautéed, chopped, and added to soups or pureed into sauces. When grilling, try tying the scape in a knot before cooking to make it easier to flip with tongs. Cooking Scapes will mellow the flavor and impart a sweet undertone.
Similar to garlic, Scapes contain antioxidants and sulfur compounds which have been shown to help support cardiovascular and daily overall health.

Matt Yoder's passion for growing things, once a simple childhood joy, has become a thriving business. Fueled by his life-long passion to grow plants and experiment, Matt spent hours doing research, investing in formal training, and working with the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center (OARDC) and the Ohio State University Extension Service to become a grower of Gourmet Hydroponic Lettuce.
His lettuce would be grown without chemicals and would be non-GMO. Add to the equation a greenhouse without the benefit of electricity piped in, because Matt is Amish.
