A cross between a Valencia orange and a navel orange. The fruit has characteristics of both but leans towards the juicier, less-pulpy valencia orange. The preferred eating method is to slicing into wedges although pealing is possible. The fragrant juice also contributes mightily to marinades, sauces, and dressings.

For most people eating real, organic, Florida citrus is a unique experience. Thorpe Family Organic Farm in Lake Wales, Florida believes that healthy soil yields healthy plants, and healthy plants create healthy fruit. They use permaculture techniques to build and retain soil nutrients, beneficial microbes, and insects. Fruit grown under these conditions is super rich in nutrients, is high in natural sweetness, and has an unsurpassed flavor profile.

2-Quarts is around 7 oranges or 4 lbs.

Thorpe's Organic Family Farm

The Thorpe family, whose main farm is in East Aurora, purchased a 15-acre organic citrus grove in Lake Wales, Florida.

"Thorpe's Organic Family Farm is a
certified organic, biodiverse farm located outside of East Aurora, NY, near the city of Buffalo. Our farm is owned and managed by us- Mike and Gayle Thorpe, along with our six children- Jeremiah, Abraham, Elijah, Abigail, Naomi, and Hannah. The grandchildren (Levi, Janie, Iyla, Ivy, Noah, William, and Kyleigh) help out as well. We are blessed with a faithful farm staff/extended family too, and couldn't accomplish what we do without them!"

"We focus on growing certified organic produce using sustainable farming methods in order to improve the soil life of our land, and the health of the community around us. We do not use any chemical herbicides, pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, genetically modified organisms, or otherwise dangerous chemicals. Instead, we employ time-tested farming methods such as organic fertilizers, beneficial insects, cover crops, frequent crop rotation, and organic rock powders and minerals to improve soil life and nutrients. "

"And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat." Genesis 1:29
